No. GalvoKote is a high-zinc cold galvanizing compound with 96% metallic zinc by weight in the dry film. Ordinary decorative or low-zinc coatings should not be assumed to provide the same galvanic behavior.
No conventional primer should be placed beneath GalvoKote when galvanic protection is required. The current GalvoKote specification states that direct contact between the zinc film and the metal substrate is essential.
GalvoKote is specified at 80 µm total dry film thickness, typically built as two 40 µm coats.
Yes. Use the controlled conventional or airless spray parameters in the current GalvoKote TDS; brush and roller application are also supported.
No. Accelerated salt spray is a laboratory comparison and quality test. It should not be converted directly into years of field life.
